LANDMARK WATERFRONT TOWER EDGES A STEP CLOSER

Hive’s proposed £55m waterfront development at Princes Dock, Liverpool Waters, has been submitted for planning approval, with an outcome anticipated to be announced in late spring 2017.

The 31-storey apartment building to be built on Liverpool’s iconic waterfront will be housing provider Your Housing Group’s (YHG) third build to rent development, although the first in Liverpool, and would be marketed under the organisation’s successful PRS brand, Hive.

Yvonne Westhead-Fyles, project lead for Hive said:

“Our iconic development will form a large part of the transformation of the Princes Dock waterfront, bringing much needed facilities to the area. We have designed the building to meet the needs of today’s renters, in a City that is full of vibrancy and is leading the way with new and attractive rental propositions”.

Named Hive City Docks, the development will offer 278 studios, one, two and three bedroomed apartments which will offer residents river and city views, 24-hour concierge services, premium rooftop restaurant and bistro facilities as well as a range of in-apartment technologies.

The proposed 31-storey tower, designed by Brock Carmichael Architects, would be on Princes Dock and form part of Peel’s £5.5bn Liverpool Waters development.

News of the plans comes after developer Moda Living received consent for a 34-storey tower on an adjacent site in late 2016. Together, the two developments represent significant progress in Peel’s Liverpool Waters vision.

Work is expected to commence later this year, subject to planning consent.
